Alexis A. Vazquez, D.O. is a board certified physician and founder of Cisca Pulmonary Critical Care, Inc. The son of Cuban immigrants, Dr. Vazquez was born and raised in Miami and communicates fluently in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Vazquez grew up playing professional tennis before deciding that serving others – not a tennis ball – was his destiny. He excelled as a medical student at Nova Southeastern University and surpassed his peers by graduating in the top ten percent of his class. After becoming a physician, Dr. Vazquez was chosen to be an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UF & Shands Jacksonville and successfully completed his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

He is well-known for his enthusiasm and passion for medicine, and has been invited to speak to medical groups on the topics of asthma, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary rehabilitation as well as being listed as one of Jacksonville Magazine’s “2013 Top Docs.” Well-loved and praised by patients and colleagues, your Jacksonville Pulmonologist, Dr. Vazquez remains on the forefront of research in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, providing research-based treatment and superior care for his patients. He has two convenient practice locations and maintains medical privileges at numerous hospitals in Northeast Florida.

Wendell H. Williams Jr. M.D. is a board certified physician practicing pulmonary and critical care medicine.  He has been serving patients with lung diseases in the Jacksonville area since 1980.  He attended the Medical College of Georgia where he received his MD.  His internal medicine and pulmonary medicine fellowship were completed with the University of Florida – Jacksonville programs.  He was selected to receive a Florida Lung Association fellowship in pulmonary diseases.  His published research is in the field of critical care of pulmonary patients.

During his career Dr. Williams has served as the Chief of Staff for several area hospitals and started the first Pulmonary Rehabilitation program in the area.  He continues to serve as the Chief Medical Officer for north Florida’s first long term ventilator weaning hospital.  He is a past president of the Florida Thoracic Society and has provided leadership to other organizations promoting lung health and patient advocacy.

Originally from Cordele, Georgia he has lived in Jacksonville since 1975.  He and his wife, Kathy, have three grown children who all work in medical fields.  New grandchildren are adding joy to the family.  He has been active in scouting and church through the years and enjoys travel with his family.  In his words, “Serving my patients has been an honor.  I remain committed to providing the best care everytime to every patient.”
